The Cubilche Lagoon known as ¨The hidden wonder in the Andes¨ allows you to cross a profuse pine forest after ascents and curves within this trekking, which enters the Andean páramo. The Cubilche Lagoon of volcanic origin has a circular shape in which its water supply is from inside, the Cubilche lagoon has a circular shape which has a diameter of approximately 30 meters. This route is characterized by the summer wind and the Andean cold that allows you to breathe purified air and disconnect from everything. The landscape that characterizes this hiking route is the fields, reliefs and several country houses typical of the farmers of our country, together with a variety of birds, being a magical lagoon and hidden in the middle of a moorland full of life.
DAY 1: Cubilche Lagoon
Altitude: 3 804m/ 12480 ft
We will pick you up from the hotel or place of stay of your choice at 06:00 a.m. where we will have a trip of approximately 1h20 until we reach the community of Paniquinrra in the parish of La Esperanza. Inside the parking lot we will give some brief safety instructions and we will distribute the lunch boxes to each one; and immediately we will start the trekking. The Trek to the Cubilche Lagoon is intended to go along a path that finds a large part of the páramo and its fauna is very diverse as we get closer to the Lagoon. Once we arrive at the Lagoon we will have time to enjoy lunch and rest. During the journey we can take the necessary photographs. In the case of adventurers who wish to go further, they can take a dip in the shores, always at their own risk. Once this trekking is finished, the transport will be waiting for us to return to Quito so that you can be in your place of stay.

Three layers of clothing for the legs and torso:
• First layer: Diver and dryfit pants (lycra type, fast drying).
• Second layer: Warm jacket and pants, preferably water repellent (fleece or polar type).
• Third layer: Waterproof jacket and pants.
• An extra diver or sweater (in case of extreme cold).
• Backpack between 25L and 35L.
• Preferably thick gloves.
• Factor 4 glasses (with UV protection).
• Buff or thermal cap.
• Thick socks.
• Sunscreen.
In case you do not have something from the list of personal clothing or equipment, Mauna Expeditions can provide you with the rental or sale of said accessories.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION OF THE PROGRAM
To book the tour, Mauna Expeditions requires a payment of 25% of the cost of the program. Full payment must be made up to a maximum of two weeks before the start date of the tour. We do not send vouchers or confirmation messages until full payment for the program is made. Our team reserves the right to cancel the tour if the full payment is not made until the start date of the program.
The Mauna Expeditions team has put a lot of effort into organizing your program. Therefore, any cancellation must be made at least 21 days in advance. After 21 days, Mauna Expeditions may make a 50% refund depending on the cause of cancellation. Any cancellation notified less than 21 days from the start date of the program will be charged a penalty of 100% of the value of the program.
COSTS

RECOMMENDATIONS
Mountaineering is a high-risk sport, where we are exposed to conditions on extreme occasions. We do not recommend doing this activity for people with asthma or some kind of heart problem. The level of difficulty of the program is demanding and there is nothing that interests us more than your safety and that you enjoy our program without any external problem.
