This fantastic trek will allow you to discover the beauty that hides the edges of the Cayambe Coca National Park. The ‘Agua & Vida’ trek is a walk where we cross the highlands near papallacta and we will be able to observe around us spectacular landscapes of many Andean lagoons, as well as many mountains of the Eastern alley of Ecuador. For photography lovers, this walk is perfect, since we will be able to observe a great variety of flora and fauna. This 10km trek is one of the most popular hiking routes in all of Ecuador. This trek is normally done in one day and every four passengers will have an ASEGUIM/UIAGM certified guide. If you travel alone, the trek will be carried out only by the certified guide with the passenger. DAY 1: ‘Agua & Vida’ Trek, Papallacta
Altitude: 3971m/13028ft
We will pick you up from your hotel or place of preference at 06h00 where we will have a trip of approximately 1 hour towards the Cayambe Coca National Park, where we will complete the registration and give some brief safety instructions before starting. We will begin our trek of approximately 6 hours where we will be able to enjoy the incredible landscapes that surround us and we will see the neighboring giant volcanoes such as Antisana, Cotopaxi, Cayambe and many more, being a perfect place for photography lovers. At the end of our trek we will return to our transport that will be waiting for us to return to the city of Quito. The return journey takes 1 hour, so we will make a stop for lunch before leaving you again at the starting point at your hotel or place of preference.
CLOTHING REQUIRED (NOT INCLUDED):
Three layers of clothing for the legs and torso:
• Base layer: Thermal clothing for body and pants (usually made of synthetic material).
• Second layer: Warm jacket and pants, preferably water repellent (goose down, fleece or polar type).
• Third layer: Waterproof jacket and pants (in case of rain).
• An extra thermal or jacket (in case of extreme cold).
• Backpack between 25L and 35L.
• Gloves.
• Factor 4 sunglasses (with UV protection).
• Buff.
• Thick socks.
• Sunscreen.
In case you do not have something from the list of personal clothing, Mauna Expeditions can provide you with the rental or sale of said accessories.

PAYMENT AND CANCELLATION OF THE PROGRAM
To book the tour, Mauna Expeditions requires a payment of 25% of the cost of the program. Full payment must be made up to a maximum of two weeks before the start date of the tour. We do not send vouchers or confirmation messages until full payment for the program is made. Our team reserves the right to cancel the tour if the full payment is not made until the start date of the program.
The Mauna Expeditions team has put a lot of effort into organizing your program. Therefore, any cancellation must be made at least 21 days in advance. After 21 days, Mauna Expeditions may make a 50% refund depending on the cause of cancellation. Any cancellation notified less than 21 days from the start date of the program will be charged a penalty of 100% of the value of the program.

In this fantastic trek within an area of the Cayambe Coca National Park, starting at the Papallacta Antennas and ending at the Papallacta Hot Springs. The Water and Life Trail is a trek that you follow through the papallacta páramo, you will be able to observe around you spectacular views of many Andean lagoons, including Baños; Glasses; and Parcacocha, you will pass next to the Miraculous Waterfall and then go out to the Guardian of the Cayambe Coca National Park. There are three trails that start from this Trek within the Cayambe Coca National Park, the most important being the Water and Life trail, since despite enjoying a great variety of flora and fauna, there are also many bears in the area that we could reach. see them. In addition, this trek of the water and life path allows you to reach the antenna sector, the highest peak in the area.
DAY 1: Papallacta Water and Life Trail
Altitude: 3971m /13028ft
We will pick you up from the hotel or place of stay of your choice at 06:00 a.m. where we will have a trip of approximately 1h30 in the direction of Cayambe Coca National Park, we will have a space to have a light breakfast before starting our walk, once finished the mini meal that It will take place before getting off the bus, here we will give some brief safety instructions and complete the registration. Inside the transport we will be able to leave unnecessary equipment that we are not going to use in the trekking and we will begin our walk of the Water and Life Trail that will take us approximately 6h00 in total at a moderate pace. On this hike we will reach the highest peak, which is 3,971 meters above sea level, we will have time to take breaks for the photographs you need and a break to enjoy the delicious lunch box. Once the tour is over, we will go back to Quito and make a previous stop for lunch in the sector and enjoy Ecuadorian cuisine.
