WHYMPER NEEDLES - CHIMBORAZO
Difficulty:
Altitude: 5300m/17388ft
Distance: 4.2km
Duration: 1 day
Date: All year
Las Agujas de Whymper are an excellent alternative to venture out and be close to the imposing Chimborazo glacier. They receive this name thanks to the Swiss mountaineer Edward Whymper who was the first to ascend Chimborazo in 1880. This trek is an excellent option to gain acclimatization at altitude, since we climb from 4800m to 5240m. From this point, we will be able to appreciate the majestic Chimborazo in the most incredible way. This trek is normally done in one day and every four passengers will have an ASEGUIM/UIAGM certified guide. If you travel alone, the trek will be carried out only by the certified guide with the passenger. Come to live this incredible experience walking through the Andes of Ecuador.
