The Limpiopungo Lagoon is located at the foot of the Rumiñahui volcano within the Cotopaxi National Park at 3892m, being a morphological result of the Cotopaxi lahars. That is, it has been formed by the melting of the glacier when it came into contact with the lava flows of the volcano. This hike is a perfect route to start in the world of mountaineering and trekking, as well as offering us spectacular landscapes since it is located at the foot of three imposing volcanoes: Rumiñahui, Sincholagua and of course Cotopaxi. This hike is also perfect for photography lovers and those who enjoy the flora and fauna of the Andes, having an endless number of birds and plants to photograph along the way. This trek is normally done in one day and every four passengers will have an ASEGUIM/UIAGM certified guide. If you travel alone, the trek will be carried out only by the certified guide with the passenger.
