Mojanda is an inactive stratovolcano located in the Eastern Cordillera of the Andes north of Ecuador. It contains a huge lagoon in its caldera, produced by a huge eruption that sealed the end of Mojanda’s activity approximately 200,000 years ago. The caldera is contained by three lagoons, the most predominant being 3km long ‘Karikucha’ (Lago Hombre or Laguna Grande). The color of the water is characterized by being a blue-green and crystalline, perfect for photography lovers. This 8km trek is one of the most popular hiking routes in all of Ecuador. This trek is normally done in one day and every four passengers will have an ASEGUIM/UIAGM certified guide. If you travel alone, the trek will be carried out only by the certified guide with the passenger. Come to live this incredible experience touring the Andes of Ecuador and join us on this beautiful adventure.
