'RUTA DEL HIELERO'
Difficulty:
Duration: 1 day
Date: All year
The ‘Ruta del Hielero’ is one of the most famous and historic routes in Riobamba and Ecuador in general. The ‘Ruta del Hielero’ is characterized by being occupied and traveled by the indigenous people of the Cuatro Esquinas community of the Pulingui parish of the Guano canton. The indigenous people travel this route with the aim of extracting the ice from the glacier of the Chimborazo volcano and thus selling it in the city of Riobamba. The ‘Ruta del Hielero’, in addition to its historical significance, is a route that offers endless incredible landscapes, especially the Chimborazo volcano. This route is a completely friendly path where we will enjoy several popular viewpoints and we will end up trying the delicious local gastronomy. This tour is normally done in one day and every four passengers will have an ASEGUIM/UIAGM certified guide. If you travel alone, the trek will be carried out only by the certified guide with the passenger. Come to live this incredible experience touring the Andes of Ecuador with us and join us on this beautiful adventure.
DAY 1: ‘Ruta del Hielero’
